Coming up in our 262nd edition of Curved Radio this weekend, we’re joined by Curvy crewster Arlo Hennings in Indonesia sharing some gorgeous traditional music from Mo’ong, Alexander Haryanto & Indra Prasetijo. We also welcome a new crewster to the fold, international DJ from Kuala Lumpur, DJ Garry Tee. mr.K will be speaking with choreographer Liesel Zink and sound artist, Mike Willmett about The Stance – a long form site-specific dance and sound work that explores the history of protest and the movement of people that put their bodies on the line. The Stance has been performed in Brisbane and Tasmania and will be restaged in November as part of Sydney’s Performance Space 2016 Liveworks programme at Carriageworks.
Gayle also has some new work from the fabulous Agnes Obel to feature, some work from our Curvy crewster in San Francisco, Jill Tracy Music Official to share ahead of her fascinating ‘The Musical Seance’ performances with violinist Paul Mercer which are on this week & new work from our Russian Curvy crewster, composer Victor Gashnikov.
mr.K has been rummaging around in his sock drawer of Kooky Kuts again and has found an oldie but evergreen goodie from Brisbane’s Pineapples from the Dawn of Time & a favourite nursery rhyme that has been bent, spindled and reconstructed by those curvy kings of the kooky, The Residents.
So Curvies, are you ready to step out through the curvy portal once more this weekend with Gayle Austin & this week’s curvy crew on 2ser FM – Real Radio‘s Curved Radio as we stream and beam out across all known universes? You are? Fabulous … you better buckle up then!
