This page is dedicated to former Curved Radio crew members who have moved sideways but who over the past four years since the beginning of the Curve, added their wit, intelligence, passion and very special selves to the curvy mix.
Maree Cunnington (Sydney) : Dr Maree Cunnington has been called ‘one of Australia’s most distinctive voices in contemporary pop music’. As a singer, performer, videomaker and photographer, she brought her extensive experience across disciplines to the broadcasting arena as one of the founders of Curved Radio with Gayle Austin. She holds a PhD from the Faculty of Creative Industries, Queensland University of Technology, and also lectures in the theories of visual and performance cultures.
Mark Janowiak (Wisconsin) : was born and raised in the Midwest of the United States. He moved to The East Village in New York, after graduating High School. He attended The School of Visual Art concurrent with Keith Haring and Kenny Scharf where he majored in: film,video and photography. Nights and weekends were spent with the punk and postpunk bands of the neighborhood, Teenage Jesus and the Jerks, The Contortions, Mars, Ethyl Eichelberger etc. Later he was a manager at historical jazz club The Village Gate where he was on first name terms with every notable musician in the city including Herbie Mann, Wilson Pickett, and Mick Jagger. Mr Leather, from The Village People used to kiss him goodnight after every gig!!!! Mark was the Executive Producer in the Northern Hemisphere for Curved Radio but is sadly no longer on this plane. Dean Seabrook (New York) : began as an actor as a young man, but ended up being a professional lighting designer for many years, especially in dance. He wrote scripts for a time in Hollywood, then worked for several years in Seattle as a National Act Liaison for over 150 concerts and events. He has played music professionally (cello, piano, guitar, mandolin, bass, bouzouki), and amateurishly for most of his life. He is quite fond of the Marx Brothers. Dean contributed musical treasures to Curved Radio almost from day one. His vast knowledge of music and generosity of spirit was a very important part of the program. Dean now broadcasts his own program from New York, Whole Brain Radio with Dean Seabrook which streams directly after Curved Radio. Check it out … it is fantastic!
Michael Kester (Hamburg) : was born and raised in New York City – more recently he has lived and worked in Germany for the last 20 years. Michael started working at age five as a child actor and model. Since then he has worked in almost every aspect of showbusiness – Actor, Director, Singer, Musician, Composer, Club DJ. He is currently taking a break from his Cheesy Choons From Choimany spot on Curved Radio to archive a major Art collection.
Peter Castaldi (Sydney) : has worked in independent film exhibition, distribution, production and marketing for the past 34 years. He has co-managed and programmed one of Australia’s first major Australian independent cinema chains Valhalla Cinemas, in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney; worked full-time as a film and entertainment industry journalist, producer & presenter with Free to Air TV: SBS, ABC and Network 10, in national radio across several ABC Networks, based at Triple J, and local radio 2GB Sydney. He has worked in print at The Herald and Weekly Times, and on Cable for The Movie Network. In 1994, Peter was the first Australian journalist invited to sit on the Cannes Festival FIPRESCI Jury. Peter now presents Screening Jets, a weekly round up of all things film and screen-based on 2SER each Sunday 10.30pm-11pm (Sydney time) immediately before Curved Radio.

Gasandji Palou (Paris) : was born in the Congo. Educated in Paris, she is a goodwill Ambassador for the Congo, and is involved in many charities to do with disadvantaged children. With a wealth of collaborations behind her, she has developed in her music and voice a hybrid world of her own and sings in French, English and Lingala. Her creative intentions are aimed at uniting nations with her messages of peace and humanity.
Omar Said (Egypt) : Omar is an Egyptian High School student who is also the social media manager for Big Apple Music Awards since 2013 and a voting board member from january 2015.
